Disc Jockey Pricing
Each event is unique. There has never been an event like yours before and will never be another one like it. I don't believe there is a "one size fits all package" or "one price fits all" that meets the needs of all of my clients. That's why I offer standard packages which can than be customized for your needs. For some, a DJ, two speakers, digital sound system and basic music library fits perfectly. Others may want additional speakers for larger crowds, dance floor lighting, additional ceremony music (in a seperate location), karaoke, a projector set-up and/or additional hours.
I specialize in working with clients who place a high priority on the satisfaction of their guests. They know that people will remember the music, sound and look of their party for years to come.
Note: Pulse Entertainment only uses Bose Professional Speakers and other high-end equipment not generally sold to the public for home applications. Bose is far superior over other professional audio equipment and it delivers the best sound in every possible way.
When Pricing DJs
Compare things such as:
1. Experience - (what experience can the DJ offer to assist in your event?)
2. Knowledge - (the ability to assist, change and modify at a moments notice.)
3. Equipment - (substandard equipment makes a BIG difference in price.)
4. Music - (substandard music collection, or poor quality of digital music just hurts to listen to!)
5. Exposure - (is it difficult to find information about the DJ on-line? Are there quick references available?)
The list could go on forever but basically you ask, "do I feel that I will be recieving value for what I will be paying for?" The lowest price may not always be your best choice. Sure, it will save you money but consider the importance of your event; are you willing to take that chance? And how much are you really saving? Fifty dollars? Maybe a hundred dollars? Compare that with what you are spending on other elements of your event.
Why are some DJs so much cheaper then others?
1. The DJ doesn't have confidence that the service he/she will provide has value. They may simply not have the experience required to good a great job!
2. The DJ may not have the extensive music library required to satisfy you and your guests. Or the quality of the music may be poor, or even stolen from the internet.
3. The DJ may not provide professional equipment including back-up equipment, just in case.
4. The DJ may not be spending the time needed to assure all the pre-planning needs are addressed prior to the event.
5. The DJ may not be spending the time (and money) needed to keep up with current industry trends in music, performance style, activities and formalities as well as communication with clients to assure your not hiring a DJ who is stuck in another decade!
Wedding DJ Pricing
Taking in consideration that in 1989 the national average Wedding DJ charged $525.00. The national average for a professional wedding DJ today is approx. $800 to $1500.00 or more depending on number of hours, equipment needed, extras and date.
There are definately some DJs that may be less expensive than what I can offer and there are some that are much more expensive. I try to keep my rates on the lower end of what most industry sites would say you would expect spend for a reputible DJ without breaking the bank.
