On-line planning tools even includes a guest request feature where your guests can make on-line requests thru this website prior to the event.  This is a very popular feature that helps me to prepare for your event.  I play the music you and your guests want!  Check out the Music Database above. Of course this feature, along with the other planning tools are optional and there for you to use as appropriate, you have complete control.

I can configure a system for a function of almost any size.  For the smallest of events I can bring a basic system that is compact enough for a large room in your house.  I have performed in homes for birthday parties, graduation parties, anniversaries, seasonal parties and even weddings.

As the function becomes larger, so does the equipment.  I can configure a four speaker system that will deliver over 1300 WATTS of power with high powered Bose speakers, the best sound in the industry!  I can compliment the computer system with a CD player to mix and match from various music sources such as an iPod.  I can also add Karaoke and a light show, fog effects and bubbles for a full dance club atmosphere. We can also plan all sorts of "adult" or "child" themed activities and/or contests great for private or corporate events. This allows the DJ to interact more with the crowd and are great for family bonding or team building.

Only the most professional equipment is used!

 

 

Primary Disc Jockey Set-up

My music collection is "digital" quality and loaded on a computer. I use a Professional Disc Jockey software program to DJ all of my events.  This is the same software used by DJs and radio stations all over the world to DJ and VJ (Video DJ) events.

Requests can be quickly searched for and instantly placed on the play list.  Even if the requester only knows part of the song I can search for it.  I can work with you to set-up play lists prior to the function that can automatically be pulled up at any point during the event.

I have two "racks" of equipment. The laptop computer sits in a rack (left) which also includes my lighting controller. My second rack (right) adds a mixer, equalizer, digital sound conditioner / filter / power monitor, microphone controller for my 4 wireless microphones and CD / Karaoke player.

The computer itself is a Dell laptop Core Duo with a 2.6 GHz processor, 2 GB of Memory, 200 GB of storage and the latest video, sound and light control cards.  200 GB of disk space can store 10's of thousands of songs.

I bring a spare laptop loaded with a back-up copy of all my music just in case I have a problem with the primary computer.  I also have a professional DJ MP3 Player (Numark D2 Director) as a secondary (or third) back-up.

I use the Vocopro UHF-5800 Professional 4-Channel UHF Wireless Microphone System for larger events and Karaoke.  This system offers FOUR microphones that can be used for multiple announcements from various individuals, toasts, etc., and is always a hit for group songs with Karaoke.  The system uses UHF frequencies which are virtually interference and static free and are compliant with the latest FCC regulations.
 

The Speakers 

The BOSE 802 Series speakers are hailed as one of the best in the market. The BOSE name tells it all.  These 240 Watt speakers are designed to sit on the floor or they are placed on stands.  They are known for their ability to project music over a large area.

For larger events I add a second pair of BOSE 802 speakers, enough to fill large halls.  Of course I have plenty of AMP power to drive these speakers (see below).

 

To drive the two, or four BOSE 802 speakers I use a QSC 2450 (2400 Watt) amplifier.  At 8 ohms (reality!), this amp delivers 500 watts per channel, or 1000 watts to the BOSE 802 speakers!  In comparison - a typical "home" stereo system is between 50 and 150 watts.

This amplifier is the back-up if the primary amplifier should fail.

For Karaoke events I have a back-up to the computer system which is a Numark CDN25+G Professional Karaoke CD Player. This player will allow me to play CDs and Karaoke CDs the traditional way.

 

Secondary Equipment Set-up (used when you require more than one equipment set-up at your event)

Fender 150  Passport 150_2

 

My secondary "equipment" set-up is a Fender Passport 150 Professional PA system. This portable mixer / amplifier / speaker system allows me to very quickly set-up a secondary PA and/or music system in a different room (or different area). This set-up is most commonly used for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hour, secondary presentation rooms, etc. I can place the speakers on a table, ground or set them up on stands.

 

Wireless Mics

 

The secondary equipment set-up includes a wireless microphone system designed for formalities such as wedding ceremonies. Included is the option to have up to 4 wireless devices with the ability to choose from the 2 wireless microphones, 2 wireless lapel microphones or 2 wireless headset microphones. This system uses virtually interference free UHF frequencies meeting the latest FCC regulations.

 

Passport 3
If music is required for the secondary set-up I will create (burn) CDs prior to the event or I can connect an iPod, computer or other digital music device into the mixer of the Fender Passport 150 music system. This system is used by professionals including musicians to amplify vocals and instruments and is well suited for other professional applications. There are plenty of options on what we can plug into it!
