Crowd Pleasers Especially for Weddings

Anniversary/Marriage Countdown Dance

All married couples and newlyweds are invited onto the dance floor.  The newlyweds are requested to remain on the dance floor throughout the entire dance.  Every thirty seconds or so, the DJ will ask everyone that has been married a year or less to leave the dance floor... then 5 years, then 10 years, etc.  This continues to 40 years.  The the DJ will count 41, 42, 43... until only the longest married couple remains.  The newlyweds are then asked to join the couple.  The DJ will prompt the crowd to applaud them and ask the older couple to share their secret for a successful marriage over the microphone... or at least to the newlywed couple.

Trivia for Kiss!

Make your guests work for that kiss!

Here's an alternative to the traditional wine glass tapping to "signal" the bride and groom to kiss.  On a small piece of paper write down different questions or things for people to do.  For example: Name three of the seven dwarfs?  Yell like Tarzan.  Name a pro Hockey player.  Dance a jig.

Then fold up each piece of paper and place in a helium balloon.  Tie the balloons around the reception hall and when someone wishes for the couple to kiss they will need to pop a balloon and answer the question, or do what the note says for the couple to kiss.

SNOWBALL DANCE

This popular dance is an ice-breaker that works year-round whatever the weather. We'll kick off the dancing with 2 people, for example the Bride and Groom or Mom or Dad dancing to a slow song. Part way through the song we announce "snowball" and invite them to leave the dance floor and return with a new partner. We'll repeat this often and finish things off with a packed dance floor.
